The Court Advice Project exists to help anyone facing court action for rent or mortgage arrears. The team can also provide advice and assistance with small claims cases.
Court Advice Project
West Lothian Court Advice Project is funded by the Scottish Legal Aid Board. It is a joint partnership project between the Advice Shop and Citizens Advice Bureau West Lothian.
This advice project offers free and independent advice to people in West Lothian who are facing repossession or eviction due to mortgage or rent arrears. Our advisors can provide:
- Advice about what to expect from the court process
- Representation when you attend court
- Help to negotiate with landlords and lenders
- Advice and support to deal with your debts
- Income maximisation checks to make sure you are getting all the income you should be
